We are back in the recording studios with a big stack of brand new comics to talk about. On top of the pile is the new Mister Miracle book from DC Comics. Creators Tom King and Mitch Gerads (The Sheriff of Babylon) are back giving their spin on a classic Kirby creation. This book is beautiful and amazing and disturbing, sometimes all on the same page. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!
We also take a look at the 100 Kirbys project occurring next weekend in Omaha, NE. Brought to you by OmahaBound and Krypton Comics, artist Phil Hester will be drawing 100 Jack Kirby characters as a fundraiser for the Hero Initiative. You can get in on the action beginning on Monday via heroinitiative.org.
Jerry discusses finally seeing Valerian and reading the first comic that served as the basis for the movie. John reviews Dept. H from Matt and Sharlene Kindt. Cullen shares his plans for the Great American Eclipse on Monday.
We wrap things up with making some recommendations for strong female-led comic stories that do not have a lot of back history, a la Wonder Woman.
